Vario Quick Connector Clamp

ARK-QC10 is the ARK Vario Quick Connector Clamp, also identified in the product range as an MV Clamp. It is a versatile connection component used where lightning protection conductors need to be joined at a crossing, branch or compatible interface. Roof conductor networks often contain multiple junctions, and a compact adjustable clamp can simplify installation when the conductor arrangement is within the approved size and geometry range. ARK-QC10 gives contractors a standardized alternative to site-made connections and helps maintain a consistent appearance across the external LPS.

The clamp should be selected based on the actual conductor diameter, conductor shape, crossing angle and material combination. Although the term “Vario” or “MV” can suggest flexibility, it should not be treated as universally suitable for every conductor. Each connection needs to match the ARK technical data and the project drawing. Correct tightening is important because a lightning protection connection must remain mechanically stable and electrically continuous under normal service conditions. Where the clamp is exposed to rain, industrial pollution or coastal conditions, material compatibility and corrosion performance should also be reviewed.

ARK-QC10 is part of the ARK External Lightning Protection System by DFMHUB and can be used with compatible ARK round conductors and related fixing components. For EPC contractors and consultants, using a recognizable part code at conductor junctions makes BOQs, material inspections and as-built documentation clearer. IEC 62561-1 is the relevant component-standard context for metallic connection components used within lightning protection systems. IEC 62305-3 provides the wider design and installation framework. Before approval, verify conductor compatibility, material pairing, permitted connection arrangement, hardware, tightening requirements and applicable ARK test reports. The installer should follow the approved LPS layout and project method statement, and completed joints should be visually inspected so that loose hardware, incorrect conductor seating or unsuitable material combinations are identified before handover.
