Straight Connector for Round Conductor

ARK-SL01 is a straight connector designed to join compatible 8-10 mm round conductors in an external lightning protection system. Straight joints are commonly required where conductor lengths need to be extended, where installation routes are divided for handling or where a defined in-line connection is needed on a roof or down-conductor path. Using a purpose-made connector helps create a repeatable mechanical and electrical joint instead of relying on overlapping conductors, uncontrolled fabrication or non-LPS hardware.

Correct connector selection starts with the actual conductor diameter and material. The joined conductors should sit correctly within the connector and remain aligned so the LPS current path is not dependent on a loose or poorly fitted joint. Tightening should follow the applicable ARK installation data or project method statement. On exposed roofs and facades, the connection should also be evaluated for corrosion, water exposure and compatibility between conductor and connector materials. The final joint should remain accessible for inspection where the LPS maintenance plan requires visual or mechanical checks.

The connection should be installed in accordance with the approved LPS drawings, and any consultant requirement for inspection, torque verification or corrosion protection should be incorporated into the method statement.
